Lisbon 2003
The Study Group on Ethics and Integrity of Governance met for its first session of workshops in Lisbon (Oeiras), Portugal at the annual EGPA-conference from 3 to 6 September 2003. The Study Group had received more than 20 acceptable paper proposals for the Oeiras Meeting. They were presenting at the six workshop sessions. This fairly heavy schedule was consistent with the aim to make the first meeting an introductory one, covering a wide range of the topics within the field of public administration ethics. Some of the topics were: the management of ethics and integrity (methods, institutions), the significance of accountability and responsibility in public administration and the consequences of New Public Management for the integrity of governance.
